The first lady of the guitar, Liona Boyd is internationally renowned in the world of classical guitar, through her arranging, composing and her recording of 21 albums. Many of her recordings have reached the gold and platinum status. Liona Boyd studied in Paris and made her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City. She has played over 100 concerts alone as opener for Gordon Lightfoot and has toured around the globe. The winner of 5 Juno Awards, Liona became one of the world's leading classical guitarists, in styles which range from Renaissance, Baroque, Contemporary Pop to Nouveau Latino. Her Christmas recordings are among Canada's top selling seasonal albums. In 2009, she recorded her milestone CD, "Liona Boyd Sings Songs of Love". As well as playing guitar, Liona sang for the first time. Her latest CD is entitled "Seven Journey's, Music for the Soul and the Imagination" release by Universal Music Canada.
